i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.
while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).
a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.
I knew Lee Watersyep he had the dark skin fine wife, he used to have a band, but it got disbanded,, he worked in both service and writing, his mom tried to marry off every bethilite she met to some sister

I believe Richard Devine, who used to be at Bethel is now in the Circuit work. I can't remember which state he's serving............

The Leora Brown I knew was a black brother around 5'10 or 5'11, wore glasses average size. He was a DO in Michigan in the 1980s and then went to California where I heard that he got disfellowshipped. There were so many rumors about him after that (like he died of AIDS, that him and his wife got divorced, etc.), but he surfaced in Atlanta, Georgia in the 1990s, selling real estate. It was rumored that he was reinstated and then DF'ed again, although both the reinstatement and second DFing was never confirmed. He should probably be in his early 60s by now.
He was a good speaker, who enjoyed playing basketball with some of the younger brothers. He could get a little competitive on the b-ball court...............

The whole space program seems to have taken several steps back in the last 30 years, and looking over some of these moon landing conspiracy sites raised some great questions about the original one. What do you think?

Another sidenote on Illingworth. He was in the service department at Bethel for awhile and HATED it. He wanted to be out on the road, and the WTS obliged. Now he is the registrar (head instructor) for MTS last I heard............

Yeah I remember Tom Combs real well. I got along with him, but he was hated by most in the Factory complex. He was in charge of laying out the Kingdom Ministries each month and was the overseer of Job Press.

Yeah, R.L. definitely was cut from a different tree. And because he raised a family before getting into the work, I feel it made him more balanced and not as fanatical as some of the other COs. His wife Claire complimented him real well and you can't help but root for guys like that. He once told me that he could've been a DO, but he just didn't want to boot-kiss to do it.
Does anyone remember Bro. Silva - a greek brother that served the Michigan area in the early 1980s? I hear that he isn't a DO anymore and is doing a slow fade, I believe in Florida somewhere. I am sure at some point that he has posted here. He had a great speaking quality, very charismatic, well-researched, very engaging and was one of the more even-keel COs that I knew as well. Knew Greek pretty well, too.

Does anyone remember Fred Curry who was the asst. pressroom overseer in the mid-90s? He was a single brother who had several run-ins with pressroom personnel. He was cool to me, but an ass-hole to the masses. Or how about Anselm Packnett who oversaw tape duplication in 360 Furman? Very jovial and funny sense of humor.
Anyone remember Anthony Hamilton or Chris Campbell? They were a couple of whiz-kids, who I imagine would have done very well on the outside world. I remember Kevin Bush who was this suave, Denzel Washington-type cat. Anyone remember the Wiggins sisters, who were three commuter sisters that got their fair share of attention from various brothers. Anyone know R.P. Johnson? Dyed-in-the-wool company man through and through. I knew Lee Waters and Ciro Aulicino in the writing department. Both of them were company men with a slightly rebellious streak. I remember Al Harrell and Tom Jefferson in the 124 Home - black brothers trying to fit into the machine. Ahh, the memories.
